Towering eight floors above ground level and at 752,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art expansion of Vassar Brothers Medical Center is the largest construction project ever in the city of Poughkeepsie.
The facility entails 264 Private Patient Rooms, 15 Operating Rooms with pre-op and post-op care, a 66-bay Emergency and Trauma Department, a 30-bed Intensive Care Unit, a rooftop helipad, a 240-seat Cafeteria, a 300-seat Conference Center, and 265-space Parking Garage to the hospital’s existing capacity.
Ducci’s scope comprised all major electrical components of the entire new facility and integration with the existing facility, including all normal and emergency power distribution (with a 15,000V / 12,000KVA Main Service), lighting, fire alarm, and life safety systems, security, AV, Paging, Nurse Call, CCTV and Data systems, and more, as well as all temporary power and site work.
